The people were really nice. The place has this, "It's 1983 and I just got out of church, so now I want to go eat" vibe that I kind of love. The food is...food. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad. It just was. We ordered breakfast and it was fine. The flavors were really subdued, except for my wife's pancake. It started off tasting like straight up Bisquick, but she eventually reached a point where you could tell the grill wasn't cleaned properly before cooking on it again. Pancakes aren't supposed to taste like onions. Overall, it was fine. If you're looking for somewhere to take both grandma AND small children, I would recommend here.
I love this place. Go check it out when you're craving home cooking at a very reasonable price!
9/10 experience. The two of us got seated within 5 minutes of arriving despite a full parking lot and a line inside on this Sunday morning at about 10:20AM. For 2 breakfast combos and a hot cocoa, our total only came to $22! The food was delicious. The best French toast I've had in years - The perfect homemade type you dream to get from a diner. Eggy, but not soggy or stiff. The pancakes were tasty as well, though my boyfriend and I agreed the French toast was better! The bacon was also some of the best bacon I've had in my dining experience in the last few years. Crisp and juicy without being floppy, undercooked, or overcooked. The sausage links were some of his favorite. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and plump. Very flavorful. The scrambled eggs were alright. Flat, not very flavorful, and definitely needed salt. The service was pleasant, though a little chaotic (likely due to them being so busy).
This spot is a great choice any time of day! I made the trip to this new location with my aging dad, based on our experience at the Grandview location, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is conveniently equipped with an access ramp—something you don’t truly appreciate until you need it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and our breakfast was delicious with generous portions. We enjoyed our time so much that we stayed as the lunch crowd started arriving, and the lunch dishes looked so tempting that we wished we had room for more! While I haven’t tried dinner yet, I have no doubt it meets the same high standards. I’m looking forward to visiting again next time I’m in town!
Absolutely amazing home cooking. Breakfast all day long! Open faced hot sandwiches! Exactly the same affordable delicious experience as OG TJs!! Dad had the fish - and Loved it, great Cole slaw! Nana had the waffle combo (whiteboard special!) and coffee. This time, I housed the “light breakfast” my egg was PERFECT, alongside an order of biscuits and gravy! So happy to welcome the TJs dining experience to Belton! Beautiful establishment. I even saw the owner and his wife!
I'm sure it could be better then what I was severed, food was not as ordered. Hash Browns first key word brown, could not need to be asked cooked and as for name brown, then asked for extra crispy and then comes uncooked.
Well, it has been awhile since TJ's opened in the closed Odens BBQ building and we was looking for a new place to try. The interior is about the same as before, and clean all around. The menu is plentiful with options including all day breakfast choices. I chose the tenderloin sandwich with fries, this is made with pounding the "tenderloin" flat then breading it before frying. The result was very tasty and large in size. Another in our group chose an omlette with bacon and hash browns it looked good as well, over all the food here seems to be a good value. Alex was our server and he was very attentive to our groups needs and seemed to cover the busy diningroom with ease.
I have eaten here several times. My husband really likes it and the price is definitely right. This is a case of you get what you pay for. I am yet to find anything on the breakfast menu that is really outstanding. And the cheese in the he omelette is so sparse it barely counts as cheese. The gravy is straight water. I've ordered it twice and it has been water through and through each time. The last time I got to go and it took a full three tablespoons of flour in a roux to make it anything that resembled gravy. I also had the pork tenderloin once and it was so overdone it was hard to chew and definitely was not made in store. My husband likes their food and says the burger is always good. But that is the only thing he's ever ordered. So I guess the burger is a safe bet but everything else is relatively bland yet affordable. The service is always outstanding
